Although winter is considered the “quiet season” it is still a season that has a lot to offer. Christmas and New Year’s is the traditional end to the harvest season and the start of winter. January frosts transform the midwinter landscape into a crystalline wonderland. Ice-skating and hot cocoa are available at the rink in Mitchell Park in Greenport, or a ride on the enclosed carousel can be enjoyed while taking in the harbor views. Most wineries are opened year around.
