Fall is harvest time and farm stands are brimming with produce at its peak. In the last few weeks of October, the vines are heavy with grapes and the foliage begins its riotous display of color. The air is crisp and clean and it is a great time for a romantic walk in the country. This is the time for the Greenport maritime festival, as well as many other harvest oriented celebrations. Leave the east end with a car full of pumpkins, gourds, bales of hay and dried cornstalks, not to mention a case or two of wine.
